1930’s Bungalow Remodel

A remodel/addition to a 1930s bungalow. The existing structure was a run-down, 1,400-square-foot house on three lots in Old Hailey. The new owners wanted to expand the size of the home and remodel the entire interior and exterior while preserving the charm of the old cottage. M.O.D.E. transformed the home for the enjoyment of future generations by modifying the floor plan to improve flow between rooms and allow for more natural light throughout. The addition was built using advanced framing techniques, high-density-foam insulation and low-u-value windows. M.O.D.E. also incorporated an insulated concrete slab with radiant heat to heat the home and a solar thermal system to provide domestic hot water. Finally, we re-insulated the original portion of the home and sided it to match the new addition.
